apply的用法：

　　一、apply表示“應(yīng)用”、“運用”、“適用”等，注意以下用法：

　�、俦硎尽皯�(yīng)用”、“運用”等，通常為及物動詞；要表示“將...運用到...”，通常用介詞 to：

　　We decided to apply a new method. 我們決定使用新方法。

　　In this way we can better apply theory to practice. 這樣我們就能更好地把理論運用到實踐中去。

　　②表示“適用”，通常為不及物動詞；要表示“適用于...”，通常用介詞 to(不能用 for)：

　　The rule doesn’t apply in all cases. 此規(guī)則并非適用于所有的情形。

　　The book does not apply to beginners. 這書不適合于初學(xué)者。

　　These methods apply to learning English. 這些方法適用于英語學(xué)習(xí)。

　　二、apply表示“申請”，注意以下用法：

　　You may apply in person or by letter. 你親自或通過書信申請均可。

　　More than 30 people applied for the position. 有30多個人申請這個職位。

　　He applied to stay there. 他申請留在那兒。

　　比較以下兩同義句：

　　去年他申請入黨。

　　正：Last year he applied to join the Party.

　　正：Last year he applied for membership in the Party.

　�、诒硎尽跋�...申請(得到)...”，通常用 apply to...for...：

　　He applied to us for help. 他向我們求援。

　　They applied to the government for financial help. 他們向政府申請經(jīng)濟(jì)援助
